On October 21st, at the FUEGORED congress held in Évora (Portugal), we presented a proposal for the Iberian Working Group for Education and Training in Forest Fires, a thematic network between Spain and Portugal to promote pedagogical activities related to fires, both in the framework of educational congresses and research projects.

In this session, the training proposal of the working group was discussed. During the session, a survey was distributed to identify training and education needs. This initiative was supported by numerous organizations and associations, including WWF, Pau Costa Foundation, AEET, SECS, SECF.

The FUEGORED 2022 congress focused on fire as a disruptor/regulator of different ecosystem services. It featured experts on wildland fire issues, including scientists, students, managers and beneficiaries of ecosystem services affected by wildland fires.
